Privacy Policy

scrollandlearn turns user-provided captures into private library entries. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

scrollandlearn is available at scrollandlearn.app.

Account information such as email address, authentication identifiers, profile settings, plan, role, and subscription state.

Capture content you submit, including notes, source URLs, public metadata, uploaded audio, video, images, files, generated transcripts, summaries, topics, and lessons.

Usage and billing information such as capture counts, transcription minutes, AI credit usage, Stripe customer identifiers, subscription status, and billing portal events.

How you use the app, recorded on our own server, for example which screens you open and when a lesson is made, so we can improve it. We do not share this with advertisers.

Technical information such as timestamps, device/browser details, request metadata, error logs, rate-limit signals, and security/audit events.

To provide the product: authenticate users, process captures, transcribe media, generate summaries, organize lessons, and sync library state.

To operate billing, enforce plan limits, support trials and subscriptions, prevent abuse, debug failures, and improve reliability.

To protect the service through access controls, admin audit logs, rate limits, fraud prevention, and operational monitoring.

To send a weekly email on Mondays with a few lessons from your own library, if you have one. We store your browser's time zone to send it in the morning where you are.

If you use your 10 free lessons and do not pick a plan, to send you one email about it the next day. The unsubscribe link in it stops it.

If you agree when you sign up or in You, to send you tips for getting started and occasional product news, and offers only if you tick the offers box when you sign up or turn on Offers and discounts in You. Every one of these emails has an Unsubscribe link, and You has a switch for each.

If you leave your email on our website without an account, we send one email to confirm it. Only after you confirm do we send tips and occasional product news, and offers only if you ticked the box.

Captures may be sent to AI and transcription providers to generate transcripts, summaries, titles, and topic suggestions.

Public social or web links may be fetched for metadata or media access. Supported targets are public posts from the social networks the app lists, such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X/Twitter and Facebook, when public access allows it.

If a platform blocks direct media access or the content is private, scrollandlearn may keep public preview metadata and ask you to upload the original source file for transcript-backed processing.

When a linked post has a cover image, we keep a copy of it to show next to your lesson and in our emails.

For a page saved with the browser extension, the app shows that page's preview image straight from the site. Like any picture on the web, the site sees that it was loaded, but not which page of ours you came from.

The extension only reads a page when you click its icon or choose one of its Save menus. It then sends that page's address, title, site name, preview image address and readable text, or the text you selected, to our server to make your lesson. It does not read other pages, your history or your tabs.

We use infrastructure and product providers such as Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and Edge Functions; Stripe for checkout, subscriptions, and customer portal; Brevo for sending email; OpenAI for AI and transcription processing; Meta for ad measurement, subject to your cookie choice; and hosting/operations providers for delivery and monitoring.

These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to scrollandlearn.

Where privacy laws such as the GDPR apply, we process information to perform our contract with you, pursue legitimate interests such as security and service improvement, comply with legal obligations, and use consent where required.

We keep account, capture, billing, usage, and audit information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and maintain reliable records.

If you delete your account or request deletion, we will remove or anonymize eligible personal information unless retention is required for security, billing, legal, or operational reasons.

We keep a record of each email we send (address, type, date, and whether it arrived) and of what you agreed to (the exact words you saw, where, and when), so we can show we only email people who agreed.

You can sign out, manage billing, cancel a subscription, delete your account, and request help with access, correction, export, or deletion of personal information.

You can stop the weekly email, tips and news, or offers with the Unsubscribe link in any of them, or with the switches on the You tab in the app. An address that unsubscribed, bounced, or reported spam stays on our do-not-email list even after the account is deleted, so it never gets these emails again.

Some generated content may be edited or deleted from the app. Some operational records, including audit logs and billing records, may be retained where necessary.

scrollandlearn uses cookies and browser storage for authentication sessions, security, product state, and basic service operation. Disabling these may prevent the app from working correctly.

We also use the Meta Pixel from Meta Platforms. It sets advertising cookies and sends Meta information about your visit, such as the pages you view, your IP address, and browser details, so we can measure and improve our ads.

When the pixel is allowed and you start a subscription, our server also reports that purchase to Meta through its Conversions API: the plan and its price, your email address and account ID in hashed form, your IP address, browser details, and the pixel's cookie values. This lets Meta match the purchase to the ad that brought you. If the pixel was allowed when you created your account, we keep that choice and the pixel's cookie values with your account, so this still works when you confirm your email in another browser. Declining in the browser you subscribe from overrides it, and nothing is reported this way when the pixel is not allowed.

If your browser is set to a European time zone (EU, EEA, UK, and Switzerland), the pixel only loads after you accept cookies in the banner. It does not load if you decline or have not chosen yet. Elsewhere, the pixel loads by default and you can turn it off at any time by declining in Cookie settings.

You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings below or in the site footer. Declining after accepting stops the pixel and removes its cookies from this browser.

We remember your choice in this browser for 12 months, in a cookie named sl_consent. After that, or if you clear your cookies, the banner asks again.

Service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

scrollandlearn is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
