Inside a lesson

A lesson is the short version of what you saved: one core idea, the key points, and a few parts that help you use it and remember it. Tap any card on your topics or on Everything to open it.

From top to bottom

  • The line above the title says where it came from and when you saved it.
  • Under the title, the topic it is in. Tap it to move the lesson.
  • The core idea, one sentence in larger type, then Key points.
  • Try this: one thing to do, when the source suggests one. Add to Things to try puts it on your list.
  • Remember this: the one sentence marked in yellow.
  • In the quiz: the question the quiz will ask you about this lesson.
  • My takeaway: a line in your own words.
  • Related: lessons from your library with a similar meaning, when there are any.
  • Its tags, with Add tag.
  • Show transcript when there is one, and Watch the original or Read the original to open the source.

At the foot you see when you saved it and when its next quiz is, for example "First quiz tomorrow".

Notes, quotes and photos

A note, a quote or a photo without text is a card, not a lesson. It keeps its topic, tags and My takeaway, and a quote also has In the quiz. See Topics, lessons and cards.

On a computer

The lesson opens over the app. Its text is on the left. The panel on the right holds the core idea, In the quiz, the topic, tags, My takeaway and Related, with Edit, Share as image, Copy, Export and Delete along the bottom.

Move with the keyboard Press J and K for the next and previous lesson, and Escape to close. See Keyboard shortcuts.
