Save a quote

Type the quote in quotation marks, then the name of who said it, and Add keeps it as a quote card. You can also pick Quote from the / menu and fill in the two fields.

Type it

Write the quote in marks, then a dash, a comma or a space, then the name, for example “The best way out is always through.” - Robert Frost. The label under the field says Quote with by Robert Frost. Tap Save quote, or press Cmd Enter (Ctrl Enter on Windows).

A text of two words or more that is wholly in marks, with nothing after it, is a quote without an author.

Use the / menu

  1. Type / in the empty field and pick Quote.
  2. Write the words in Quote, and the name in Author (optional) if you know it.
  3. Tap Save quote.

What happens to it

A quote is a card, not a lesson, so it never uses a credit. It comes back in your quiz: you see its opening and the question "Who said it, and how does it end?" When it has no author, the question is only how it ends.

It says Note instead of Quote? The name after the marks must start with a capital letter and be a short name, not the rest of a sentence. Or use Quote from the / menu, which always saves a quote.
From a web page With the browser extension, select a passage and right-click Save to scrollandlearn. A short passage is kept as a quote with its page. See Save with the extension.
