Which sites work
Links from 17 sites become lessons: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X, Threads, Reddit, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Twitch, Spotify, SoundCloud, Snapchat, Rumble, Telegram and Apple Podcasts. A link from any other site is not read in the app, but on a computer the browser extension saves any web page.
Video and audio sites
On Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitch, Spotify, SoundCloud, Snapchat, Rumble and Apple Podcasts, the lesson comes from what the post says: its captions, a transcript of its sound, or a description long enough to learn from. A video without captions and with only a short description may ask you to upload the file instead, see Upload the video instead.
On Instagram and TikTok, a photo post is read for the words printed on its slides. Slides with too few words and a short caption make no lesson.
A Spotify or Apple Podcasts episode is transcribed from start to end when its show has a public podcast feed.
Text sites
On X, Threads, Reddit, Bluesky, LinkedIn and Telegram, the post itself is the lesson, however short. Images in X, Threads and LinkedIn posts are read for their printed words too; a short post with only photos and no words on them makes no lesson.
Every other site
When you paste a link from another site, Add tells you: "We can't read links from example.com yet. Paste a link from Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X, LinkedIn or one of 11 more sites." Nothing is saved, so it uses none of your lessons. On a computer with the extension installed, Add points you to it instead, because the extension reads the page you have open.
