Why didn't my link become a lesson?

A link becomes a lesson only when there is something to learn from: captions, speech we can transcribe, or enough text. When there is not, we never make a lesson up. The link stays in your library with a short message that says why and what you can do.

Where to look

A link that needs you shows in grey under Recently added on Topics, and on Everything, with its message under it. Open it to see the whole message and the buttons that fix it. A link that made no lesson uses none of your lessons.

What each message means

  • We couldn't read this one: the post is private, deleted, or a video without captions and with too short a description. If you have the video, tap Upload the video. See Upload the video instead.
  • No lesson in this one: the post is photos without words we can read, or a video that says too little. There is nothing to upload or retry, so only Remove is offered.
  • That didn't work: something went wrong while reading it. Tap Try again. When your plan's transcription minutes are used, you also see Upgrade. A video over the length limit can only be removed.
  • This is taking too long: see Taking too long.
  • Waiting for a plan: your free lessons are used, and the link waits for your plan. See Your free lessons.

Links that are not saved at all

A link from a site we do not read is never saved, so it shows no message in your library. See Site not supported. A post you saved before opens the lesson you already have, see Already saved.
