The Add field

Everything you save inside scrollandlearn goes through one field called Add. You paste or type into it, and it recognises what you gave it and shows you, before you save, whether it becomes a lesson or a card.

Where to find it

  • On a phone, tap the yellow Add button to the right of the tab bar. A sheet opens with the field.
  • On a computer, the yellow Add card is the first card on Everything. On any other screen, click Add at the top right or press N, and the same card opens over the page you are on.

What it recognises

  • A link from Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X, LinkedIn and 11 more sites becomes a lesson. See Save a link.
  • Text under 300 characters is kept as a note card. 300 characters or more becomes a lesson. See Write a note.
  • Text in quotation marks followed by a name is kept as a quote card. See Save a quote.
  • A photo you drop or paste is read for its printed words. See Save a photo.

Under the field a small label says what it found, for example X post with becomes a lesson, Instagram Reel with 1 credit per 30 min, or Note with kept as a note. The yellow button says what saving does: Make lesson, Save note or Save quote.

The / menu

Type / in the empty field to open a short menu. Under Save you find Voice memo, Photo, Video file, Playlist or profile (a whole playlist, channel or profile from YouTube, TikTok or Instagram, on Creator and Power; on Power also from Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Reddit, Spotify or Apple Podcasts; see Save a whole playlist or profile) and Quote. Under Write you find Heading, List and Checklist, which format the note you are typing. Keep typing after the / to narrow the list, then pick one with the arrow keys and Enter, or tap it.

Cards do not use credits Notes and quotes are cards. They never use a credit, and they are saved even after this month's credits are used.
