Save a photo

Add reads the printed words on a photo. When they reach 300 characters, they become a lesson. A photo with fewer words, or none, is kept as an image card.

Add the photo

  • On a phone, type / in Add and pick Photo, then choose a picture or take one.
  • On a computer, drag an image onto the Add card, paste it with Cmd V (Ctrl V on Windows), or type / and pick Photo.

The photo shows in the field with Photo with text. Tap Make lesson, or press Enter. The X on the photo removes it.

What becomes of it

We read the text that is printed on the photo, such as a book page, a slide, a menu or a whiteboard. 300 characters or more and the lesson is made from exactly those words. Under that, the photo is saved as an image card. A photo is never described in words to make a lesson.

A photo uses 1 credit only when it becomes a lesson.

File types

JPG, PNG and WebP are saved as they are. Other images, such as HEIC from an iPhone, are turned into a JPG first when your browser can open them. If it cannot, you see Use a JPG, PNG or WebP image.

A screenshot of a post If you have the post's link, paste the link instead. The lesson then keeps its source and reads the captions too. See Save a link.
