How topics are made

scrollandlearn files every new lesson into a topic on its own, so you never have to pick one. You can move any lesson later, and the filing follows what you keep where.

How the topic is chosen

When a lesson is written, its title and opening are compared with your topics and with the lessons you already keep in each one. If a topic holds that subject, or the wider subject it belongs to, the lesson goes there: a lesson about notifications in an AI app joins a topic about AI tools.

Only when nothing fits does it start a new topic, with a broad name of a few words that later lessons can share, such as Parenting rather than Silent parenting mistakes. New names follow the language of your other topics.

Notes, quotes and photos join a topic only when they are about the same subject as the lessons in it. Otherwise they get a topic of their own.

Topics you may see

  • Start here holds the examples and guides every account starts with. Delete them whenever you like.
  • Unsorted holds lessons from before automatic filing. Open one and tap Choose a topic.
  • Saved ideas is where a lesson goes if choosing its topic fails. Move it from there like any other.

Steer it

Because the filing looks at the lessons in each topic and at its name, moving a few lessons and clear topic names help later lessons land in the right place.
